I’m from Western Canada and lived and worked (and loved!) in Toronto for twenty years or so. For too long, Toronto had become toxic and I was presented with the opportunity to move to Vancouver. Now I wouldn’t live anywhere else. That is, unless I was fabulously well-to-do and could live in a Japanstyle-inspired, beachfront house on a Hawaiian island in Goa, India on a Hawaiian island. A solid gold house. With recently-retired Italian soccer players as manservants.
My all-time favourite movie is Lindsay Anderson’s O, Lucky Man! and my all-time favourite album is David Byrne & Brian Eno’s My Life in the Bush of Ghosts and my all-time favourite book is the Illuminatus! trilogy by Robert Shea & Robert Anton Wilson. It may be meaningful that two of those three favourites have exclamations in their titles or it may not. The last favourite should give a big clue as to what the hell the “23” in my netmoniker means.
I reserve the right to change my all-time favourites on a whim. Like, one of them already changed, just now! The only magazine to which I subscribe is Entertainment Weekly. This is indicative of nothing.
Fun fact: I wear size 7½EEE shoes. This amuses my pals unreasonably.
I love my work and my family and my friends. As you may already have guessed, I don’t love almost everything else, especially the stupidity pandemic. I promise to try to write more about
[(everything) - (almost everything else)]
in the future.
And if I don’t try, I’ll at least try to try.
