It is the exact same thing as claiming god will hear your prayers and give you what you require. I find far greater solace in simply saying, 'Many things are possible, though not equally likely.' Maybe I'll get what I need, maybe I'll even get what I want; but I refuse to sit around on my ass begging make-believe friends or entities to satisfy me.
