So That Happened

Thanks to all the readers who wrote or commented on the lack of posts this week. As it turns out, a simple (but severe) cold triggered a years-dormant asthma condition and I’ve been incapable of doing much more than lying on the couch, hacking my lungs out, drenched in sweat, gobbling Tylenol like crazy and, finally, a course of antibiotics and steroids kicked in and I’m on the road to recovery.

Do you know how many Ultimate Fighting ads a human being can withstand while watching endless reruns of CSI:NY on SpikeTV? Apparently, quite a few.

Asthma

Stupid lungs. I remember when this first happened, twenty-plus years ago, and I saw a holistic practitioner who suggested that I was having asthma attacks because I’m unable to let things go, psychologically. Because asthma is a problem breathing out, not in, get it? We’ll see about that.

Thanks again for your inquiries and concern. Back soon.

  • Oh my God! I’m glad you’re feeling better now. Take care!

  • I’m glad you posted this. I was indeed beginning to worry. I’m glad and relieved to hear you’re feeling better.

    Take care,
    Jeffrey

  • Oh, I thought you were mad at us or something. Or fed up. I’m glad it’s actually all about you and that you’re improving. Hug from me. Hug.

I have episodic asthma, and my mom and older brother both have asthma, so as someone who is intimately familiar with this condition, I am glad you are taking it easy. Rest, sir. We will all be waiting for you here on your return. Get well soon!

Get Well & Be Safe, take it easy…we’ll survive (although Green on Thursday was sorely missed)…and, a take on the current political storm would be nice, when possible. Seems very strange?
Asthma in Toronto is no small matter. Before meds, all doctors could recommend was a change in climate, and it’s what forced my grandfather as a boy to be moved from Toronto to the high, clear air of Colorado. Hence, the “American” leg of that family…

  • I’m sorry to hear that you were so sick, but very happy you’re on the mend. Weak lungs and tendency towards asthma run in my family, so I’ve seen how a cold can lay out a person, especially in the winter in a cold climate.

Hope you feel even better soon!

Coming from a long line of wheezers (and having seen folks have scary asthma attacks), I am glad you are OK.

And a Whiskey Tango Foxtrot on the holistic prac’s advice… Asthma seems to be on the list of Diseases That People Read Weird Shit Into…

DUDE! I was wondering what the hell was up! Damn, sorry to hear the asthma was kicking your ass. And glad to hear you are recovering!

Netflix, perhaps? I’m glad you weren’t watching CNN, at least. The stink on that makes it incredibly hard to breathe in.

I’m glad you’re on the mend. Going without you for more than a week is harder than it looks. Re-reading is good for me because I catch details, but fresh meat is always tasty.

  • Glad to hear that you are on the road to recovery. I just assumed you were taking a break from blogging for a few days. (You’re entitled)

Sorry to hear that it involved illness. Not mention Ultimate Fighting ads. Which was probably worse than the actual illness itself.

Hope your getting your rant on again soon.
