It is sickening to know that this type of shit is still as prevalent as it is. For the record, our prof is one of the kindest and most intelligent human beings it has ever been my privilege to know. I just fear for this country so much and if republicans get in, I will probably start to fear for my own safety and that of my friends. I had to stop watching about two thirds of the way through. I feel such hot shame and anger at the state of my country, the vast ignorance I witness on a daily basis. It is simply bewildering to see these haters with the masks of propriety stripped away. The things they will themselves to believe. Lies trumpeted by the Republican Machine, courting extremists, and amping up the vileness. All of this eerily echoes the rise of fascism in the thirties. Yes, I too fear that all this pandering to the emotions of fear and prejudice will set the ball in motion for assassination attempts if Obama gets elected. The tone McCain has taken for his campaign is unforgivable. Ugly. I had to stop watching about two thirds of the way through.
