Adam’s Balls
02Jul08
Adam Schwabe does a lot of things. His day job is actually very similar to mine, but when he’s not at work he’s a tireless online multimedia content producer. He lives in Toronto and while much of what he does showcases the stuff making his heart and mind ping in this city, I was captivated by his video, below, of a kinetic sculpture at the BMW Museum in München last month:

The illusion of the twisting column of balls is my favorite. Es ist ausgezeichnet!
That’s incredibly awesome!
I saw this title in Google Reader and was mortified for a minute
Thanks for the link love B. München was fantastic and this was just one of the many reasons why.
Apparently this was the first few days the BMW Museum had been opened but I had no idea at the time when I was visiting (since I can hardly speak any German). I’ll probably throw a second video I caught of the sculpture up on Flickr soon. In the mean time, here’s another video inside the museum: http://www.flickr.com/photos/aschwabe/2614109575/
Cheers!
That sculpture is beautiful, but I gotta say the whole setup is creepily hypnotic, with the soft music and the soothing voices and the balls’ gentle movements.
must buy BMW… must buy BMW…
That’s cool as fuck! I LOVE kinetic art— very hypnotic!
