Oh, Porn

For a variety of reasons — apart from the obvious, May-is-National-Masturbation-Month reason and also for reasons not-so-obvious (which, sorry, I won’t talk about now or in the foreseeable future) — I’m lucky enough to interact with the cream of the porn world. So to speak.

I have close and casual friends and business associates who make (or made) porn and, oddly enough, I even met up once with a porn performer who happened to use my real name as his nom de porne. That was weird. I don’t mention this in any way to be boastful, it’s just… history.

Anyway, I’ve written before, with considerable annoyance, of the weird, unjustifiable, love-or-hate, binary assessment of pop culture and, specifically, of gay pornstars by the gays. So when I announced to friends that Champ and I were off to Toronto’s Priape store to meet Titan Man Dean Flynn to set up a future interview, I was met, twice, with derisive comments. And eye-rolling sneers. Because? Well, maybe it’s the knee-jerk dismissal of That Which Appeals to Others. Or The Blasé Pose the gays often adopt when regarding sex industry workers.

Certainly no justifiable reason. Because Mr. Flynn is not just gorgeous, built and jaw-droppingly sexy — I won’t talk about his spectacular film work here or the fact that the dude cannot take a bad photo but, trust me: HOT — he’s also charming, articulate and friendly.

Which shouldn’t come as any surprise to anyone who actually knows high-end pornstars and producers on a level other than sitting in front of their television or computer with their boxer briefs around their ankles. But still, I kinda feel it needs to be said.

Anyway, meeting Dean was a delight — and I look forward to that interview I mentioned — but a surprise treat was meeting the whip-smart, funny and engaging Titan head honcho Bruce Cam, whose work has… well, as I told Bruce, his movies for Titan are so fused to my libido that they’re part of my DNA. Fitting, since so much of my DNA… well, you get the drift.

Anyway, thanks, Bruce and Dean — and the guys at Priape — for making a lovely Saturday afternoon that much… hotter.

This guy is so cute/sexy/alluring etc, etc, etc, that i will buy his dvds when that pretty mug and happy smile appear on their covers…and damn the content (never a disappointment; so far so good)…delicious!…ok, time to stop…Lucky You!…how did you stay so “cool”?…does it need stating that a tid bit of that interview would be greatly appreciated? “Oh Porn”…as in “Oh Canada”…goes without saying, neh?

“maybe it’s the knee-jerk dismissal of That Which Appeals to Others” I find incredibly large numbres of gay men are not mentally capable of allowing someone else to be the centre of positive attention. Say a bartender is hot or point out a cute guy and they automatically something bad about the person. It gets tiresome.
Flynn is cute, but you would be hotter in a film. Did they sign you up for “Daddy in Leather: The Black Eagle Backroom Boys”?

snotty, I’m flattered. And that’s all I’ll say about that. For now. Ahem.

And, thanks, jgs, and stay tuned for the interview, or bits thereof. I can’t stress enough what a great guy Bruce Cam is — he’s not only crafted a studio showcasing his work with the most insanely hot, masculine men on the planet but is so warm and funny, too — and his humble redirection of all attention to his star is simply further justification for his position at the top of the porn business.

And, since this is always so important to me, let me repeat a press release from Titan after Bruce refused a DAVID [European porn] Awards Lifetime Achievement Award:

“I cannot in good conscience accept a Lifetime Achievement award from an organization that glorifies and promotes bareback content alongside my own,” says Bruce Cam, President and CEO of Titan Media. “I have worked my entire adult industry career to promote and eroticize safer sex content in all of my films. It would be against every single fiber of my moral being to accept this award. Silence is acceptance and I can no longer sit by and watch the industry where I have worked and helped shape be destroyed by others seeking financial gain at the expense of performers and the entire gay community. I cannot and will not accept this award as it is tainted with the blood of others.”

    Awesome.

I know, it’s the entire “package”…but, jesu, that chest!

Yeah yeah, but who’s the pornstar on the right? What movies has *he* been in??

  • That stance on bareback content is hot all by itself.
