Like all good albums, it took me a while to warm to the grittier edge of B-52s’ Funplex, but it was inevitable, really. If you don’t like syncopating, goofy fun, I urge you to give this one a pass.
B-52s, “Love in the Year 3000″ (Funplex, 2008):
There’s an adult version (by the same clever VJ, Tom Yaz) after the jump, included for no reason other than to further mortify my Mom, but I kind of like this one better.

Barbarella vs. Flesh Gordon…it’s a difficult choice!
It’s a really tough call, David D.! But I’m going with Barbarella, whose playful eroticism is more in line with the Bs’, I think.
This is the most bestest song on the new album… at least that’s my thoughts on it.
Me, too, Erik. Dyin’ for remixes.
I do love this song. It is probably my favorite on the new record… along with funplex, and deviant ingredient. I also like Hot Corner quite a bit.
I actually OWN Flesh Gordon on dvd. I need to watch it!
And as much as I love Barbarella, the twirling robot penises and the laser-shooting nipples just takes the cake!
