So Champ is off on a cruise with his parents in just a few weeks and lately he’s been excitedly investigating all the fun stuff they’ll be doing. For example, the parties and theme events!

Can I just say right now how happy I am that he’s going? Without me? I know, I know, you’re thinking “dude, that sounds like so. much. fun.” and I’m all “yeah, I know, right?, but I worry about all that fun being way-dangerous for a man of my advanced years.”
Can I also say that if there are any Italian soccer players or Israeli soldiers visiting Toronto in the next few weeks who are all lonely and whatnot, well…

Have you read “A Supposedly Fun Thing I’ll Never Do Again”? My copy’s being perpetually loaned out or I’d quote you a line or two for enticement; though it doesn’t say anything you don’t already know about cruises, he does manage to be quite creepily funny about it.
