Further to the ongoing struggles of Retail Council of Canada President Diane Brisebois to convince Canadian Finance Minister Jim Flaherty (and the rest of Canada) that Canadian Retailers are the victims — not the perpetrators — of the current chasm between American and Canadian pricing for the same products…

There’s been some growing concern about a) the veracity of her claims that manufacturers charge Canadian retailers 20-50% more than American counterparts and b) why it’s taken Ms. Brisebois and her organization until now, when consumers are reacting by Buying American en masse, to raise a stink about it.

A casual search of the interwebs reveals not just that Ms. Brisebois is President of an organization claiming that retailers — not consumers — are the victims of the huge chasm between U.S. and Canadian sticker prices…

…but it appears that Ms. Brisebois is also part of an organization a religion which believes that human beings are “a genetic experiment, put on Earth by extra-terrestrials”:

Colour me shocked. Fun fact: Brisebois’ grandmother “underwent frontal bone extraction following her death. This is a process where a facial bone is removed to facilitate future cloning efforts.” (from the above-linked article)

I could be wrong. Please correct me if I am. And, in fairness, believing we descended from alien genetic experiments is actually less nutty than believing women were created from some guy’s rib. And believing either of those things doesn’t diminish one’s capacity for protecting the Canadian retail industry’s pricing policies, does it?
