This is Sunrise Records (& Video), just steps from the corner of Canada’s most widely-known intersection, Yonge & Bloor. I used to shop there all the time for my CDs and DVDs. Almost exclusively, actually, since they were a reasonable alternative to multinational conglomerate-stores and much closer than the best CD store in Toronto. And then something happened. It stopped being about music, video and movies and started being all about dumbass, collectible shit and joke-shop detritus.

It’s practically impossible to find more than one Björk title in the stacks but if you want a Simpsons Monopoly Game, you’re good-to-go. I dare you to find even one music or video-related product in their window display; Buddha Buddha Banks and Harry Potter & Grindhouse action figurines apparently are much more profitable:
